They might suppose the car to be flame thrower with the oil hose connected
to the exhaust.
I would say that the amount of oil on the road is less with that system and
it does indicate very early any engine damage.

Finally got an answer from SCCA to the question----why are engine vacuum
systems which connect to the exhaust system prohibited by SCCA? I didn't
present an argument in favor of the system in my original letter, but I did
say that I have seen them in use in cars raced in other series.
The official response is printed in the April issue of FasTrack which came
out
today. It reads, in its entirety, as follows:
"Thank you for your request. There is no need shown for these systems and
they create a safety issue if they malfunction".
Does anyone think we can win this "argument"?
