Braille makes all kinds of lightweight batteries. I dropped 22 pounds in my
car by installing a 2015. I know of several SCCA racers that use them with no
alternator. I will used an outside starter battery from the grid to save
reserve power in case I spin and kill the engine, BTDT. They are also AGM so
can be mounted in any position and with some race rules don't have to be in a
non conductive box just have the terminals well protected.
