[Fot] Low cars and trailers

Bud,
I purchased a heavy open landscape trailer a few years back. 5000GVW 16
footer. Trailer weighs 1700# and has 2 brake axles . The bed is flat and it
works well for moving LBC's. It is similar to the one Charly Mitchell sent
the link to you. The only issue is having to raise the tongue of the trailer
to take some of the angle out from the ramp to the bed. I purchased a set of
ramps with mine and carry some blocking in the truck to add under the ramps
to decrease the angle if needed. I now have a winch as well, I found
Superwinch's "winch-in-a-bag" on sale at the local big box parts retailer.
2000# winch, 12volt (powered with my portable battery pack). Works awesome.
It is a portable winch that has no problem pulling a classic Saab 900 onto
the trailer. It also winches in reverse to unload. I also use this winch
pulling disabled cars into the shop. I have loaded and towed numerous LBC's
with this set up and have yet to bottom out.
