I believe it refers to the inclination of the steering axis towards the
center of the car, more commonly called King Pin inclination (even though
these suspensions don't have king pins).  In other words, castor tips the
axis from front to rear, while king pin/swivel pin tips it left or right.

Triumph presumably used positive camber because it had "always been done
that way".  If I remember correctly, bias-ply tires either liked positive
camber or didn't care as much; radials are more sensitive.  And while I'll
certainly agree that negative works better, the stock geometry isn't all
that bad.

It's easy enough to add, my suggestion is to try it for yourself.  If you
don't like it, take it off.  I certainly miss it on my street TR3 (had to
take it off when I put on the proper early front apron, as the bumper
brackets are different and the bar mounts to those brackets).
