I did the Southwick conversion and removed it.

I think it provides the spacing
that allows you to set the factory spec end
play with the shims at the end of
the axle housing.
If you have the Southwick conversion or IRS, Iit is not
required.

explain to me the function of the "thrust button"
(the cylindrical-shaped
spacer that fits inside the locker between the axle
shafts) and if/why it must
be installed on a solid axle car (TR-4)?
