I agree, but the nose piece (aka input housing) can be shortened with a
hacksaw or similar.  Just cut off about 3/8" and deburr/round the edges a
bit.

Otherwise, the "diaphragm" fingers will hit the nose piece when the clutch
pedal is depressed.
