Well certainly there are those who hold that opinion, not least of all
the FIA... but... the facts remain that he DID give up the position to
Kimi, I don't think there is a specified distance for the lead, and
this was confirmed with both the team & race officials at the time.
I watched the race, and the replay of the last 3 laps at least a dozen
times, and I can't see how he put Kimi out. Also consider the dry tires
& wet track conditions.
Personaly I thought that it was a fine example of driving since he was
well alongside Kimi when he went off; the alternative being that he
would surely have taken both of them out of the race, had he not gone
off course.
I also understand that there are some who just don't favor
Hamilton/McClaren, evidenced by some of the politics and "soap opera"
issues of late...
I respect your opinion
Thank you!
Glen

I will NOT sign that petition. The way I saw the situation, while
Hamilton
did back off a bit and allow Kimi to get back in front, he did not back
off
enough to give up his inertia and maintained it long enough to
immediately
get back in the lead.

In my humble opinion, the penalty is just. His Rookie actions caused
Kimi
to crash out and that does nothing to erase that outcome.

I would have black flagged Hamilton and not even allowed him to claim
3rd
place. That would have been justice in my opinion.

I realize that a lot of you were busy last Sunday, and probably didn't
catch the Spa race, and on-line petitions have questionable value, but
this is one that may be worthy...
Last night there were approx 15,000, this morning nearly 50,000. There
are a lot of pissed off F1 fans!
