We probably should add that chassis flex, & type of bar mounting & end 
links, are factors to consider as well.

Right - the issue is: what wheel rate do you need? This is of course
related to the corner weight and the weight transfer.

I also wanted to mention that some of the folks that use hollow-bars 
run
bars that are quite a bit larger diameter (like 1.25" speedway
engineering).
