Oddly enough, I've had more of them fail with stock (non LBC) carbon-core
wires than with solid-core wires.  One of them was toasted so badly that MSD
wouldn't repair it.  Another was intermittent, would simply refuse to work
for a minute or so every morning (always at a stop light in traffic), then
work fine the rest of the day.

I thought it was just bad luck ...
