Hi,

Some of you may care about this, others may not. NER SCCA has been working
on a new track for about 10 years. Last night they got the go-ahead from
the town of Palmer, MA - the local permitting is done, all that's left is
the formal environmental regulations compliance (they are well on thier
way to that hurdle).

Read the article here:

http://www.masslive.com/republican/stories/index.ssf?/base/news-12/1196761858231780.xml&coll=1#continue

If you want to see some basic track info, go to:

www.palmermotorsportspark.com

There's not much info there yet, but there will be in the near future.

The plan is a 2.5 mile natural terrain road course set in 650 acres of
woods. Eventual plans should include a large skid pad a'la Beaver Run.

At any rate, there's a possible venue to fill the "void" in the northeast
that exists (and will exist even mor ein the near term) of available
tracks. NHIS has been sold to one of the NASCAR kingpins, so the road
course there is in jeopardy and Lime Rock hosts events from at least 4
local SCCA regions and a SCAD of other clubs (BMWCCA, Porsche club and so
forth) and the track rental price is pretty much off the charts, so a new
track is a welcome relief indeed!

FWIW, the track is a for-profit LLC and at this time they are still
looking for large investors - contac them if you want to invest some money
in the project.

Regards,
rml
