[Roadsters] Vintage AM Radio Repair (Charles Hubbard)

One thing if you decide to do the cap swap out yourself is back a couple decades ago the older lead-based solder was replaced by lead-free which is not compatible with the old stuff. You will need the old 60/40 or better 63/37 solder to work on these radios. Do not try plumbing solder either.

The cap leads will probably need to be scraped/cleaned a bit because the old lead coating on them has been replaced with something else.

I haven't used them but saved this link either from someone on this list or another I am on: http://tubesandtransistorsandmore.com

Restores antique tube and transistor radios and such. Basically says all the caps fail after a couple of decades and changing out a few to make it work isn't good enough and changes them all and sees what's up afterwards.

The ON/OFF switch doesn't work and the dial lights (tiny screw-in bulbs) are burned out. Any recommendations would certainly be appreciated.
