Hi Gerry ,
You say erratic tach and mention Aftermarket... I am to assume that
the Factory cable driven is not
used ... ??.. So if your using an electric non stock tach, I would
source the brand and wiring diagram and
recommended hook up. It sounds like pick up signal is an issue and not
every voltage source that could
have been used may work. Some tachs require a tach adapter ,especially
depending on the ignition system used.
Others can not be driven directly with out it. Then there is Voltage
triggered or current triggered ?
Do you have a stock Distributor points system or Electronic type? If so
what brand and I may be able to help you .
