Pretty normal for most stock filters.

Matt, do you have a bypass/return line fitted?

If so, the flow will be greater, the filter ought to fill (other than trapped air) and the excess gas bypasses and is returned to the tank.

If not, you will only see amount of flow that corresponds to actual carb draw as called for by the float bowl valves. Not much at idle.

been doing a little maintenance on my 68 SPL with a buddy, after looking things over he remarked that the fuel pump is going out and needs to be rebuilt or replaced. He based this on the filter only filling to just above the inlet/outlet level lets say 60% full.

As far as I remember this was that was it has always been and that you could see the pump pulsing the fuel into the filter. He says the filter should be completely full of fuel and we shouldn't see a pulsing action.

The filter is the stock one and it is clipped into the stock holding bracket.

Let me know what you have seen or think about his assumptions.
