Brass floats make great conversation pieces around the garage, but lousy
floats. They develop cracks and eventually sink. And since they are
internal, no purist will get the chance to yell at you! Go with the
plastic ones with the metal straps wrapped around them!

My Dad was a big Jim Hall fan. We went to a bunch of CAN-AM races at
MidOhio, Elkhart Lake (now Road America), and Watkins Glen. I picked the
wrong corner to stand at one day at MidOhio, and as the Chaparral 2J
"sucker" went around, I got a face full of track marbles! Hall was great
at coming up with new developments. The old CAN-AM series was some of the
best racing ever!
