I agree with Stan that the old CanAm (and TransAm) racers were great.
McClaren, Guerney, Hall, etc were fantastic.
Stirling Moss shows up every year at Monterey Historic Car Week in August.
He's getting up there in age but still gets around with a cane and always
attracts a crowd of well wishers. Saw him again last year in downtown
Carmel-by-theSea for the free downtown car event as well as at the Quail,
Concours, and Laguna Seca events. Sir Jackie Stewart was also at Quail as was
Dan Gurney a few years ago(selling/autographing his Eagle Engine book). Wayne
Carini was at Gordon McCalls event at the Jetport as well as most of the
auctions. Jay Leno walks around many of the events and usually emcees the end
of the Concours. Several years ago the Governator rolled into Pebble Lodge
with his CHP escort for the Concours. Jerry Seinfeld was also eating lunch in
The Lodge that day and had 3 cars entered.
The Quail event has had some of Peter Brock's BRE Datsun roadsters on display
before as well as a competitive off road 1600 roadster.

FYI - Gerardo stopped by my house in Camarillo recently and dropped off two
rebuilt SU carbs which both had the correct (level) float chambers. I'll find
some time to change out the carbs mounted on the 67 1600 he sold me last
summer and see if I can finally get this beauty running smoothly.

Any thoughts on which are the better floats? (1st set of floats had new
aftermarket plastic floats and the 2nd pair has brass floats). Should I float
test the brass ones?
