[Roadsters] It won't stop running

Dana,

Years ago my 67.5 would not turn off when the key was switched off. It
turned out to be an overheated connection on the ammeter that was loose.
Replacing the fried terminals fixed the problem. I have a GM alternator,
and I suspect that everyone who has this problem is not running the
stock alternator. If this is the case, a rewire of the alternator to
either use external excitation or the use of a relay to shut the
alternator off when the ignition is turned off will be needed.

What may be causing the problem is that the alternator output is
connected to the same side of the ammeter as the load of the car. When
the engine is still turning the alternator is putting out power that
kept the ignition going.

Peace,
Pat
