Hi Paul,

I also have seen how people are terse in the writing of their ads. It may
come from having been exposed to respondents who are irritating for various
reasons.

Sellers understandably wish to filter them out, and brusque listings can
dissuade at least some idiots from even trying to approach.

One workaround is a phone call rather than email when possible. Each can
size-up the other and go from there real time.

Then again, another selling strategy is not to include a phone number since
it can be easier to read and delete...
