So pursuing the effort to present Victors Z car to as many prospective buyers
as possible, RonE and I went and picked it up, and since I couldn't go to
Solvang, I took it to the CarsNCoffee Saturday morning car show in Irvine.
It just so happened that when I pulled in the spot I chose ot park was right
next to a '32 Ford, but not just a YA32 (Yet Another 32 Ford), but one with a
12-cyl Jag engine in it, so there was a crowd all around all morning.
(look for the Lime green 72 Z with Japan -spec SSR Mark II wheels)

Roadster content (well kinda).
While I had been a passenger in this Z car (aka: hang on for dear life,
sometimes ponder your existence on terra firma), I had never driven one until
Friday morning.
Not to be trite, but OMG! with a 280Z 5-speed, what feels like a comp clutch,
and the large rubber, this thing seriously hauls @$$!!! Comes out of the
chute like a just-branded animal, and I am doing my best to take it easy.
Similar driving experience to the U-20, except the power bands are not so
separated. (I think that is the state of my own SU carbs, as I have 2 distinct
power bands in my car, one from 2k-3.5k, and another from 3.5k-5.5k)

The "enclosed" feeling is different, and the Z seats are so darn low the
window base is at shoulder level (and that is for me, the shorty-legged tall
guy)
And surprising to me, A) the added rubber sems to have the perfect offset,
because the steering is not heavy at slow speeds, and B) TONS of legroom.
Lack of sun exposure and plenty of headroom has me hooked.
Fwy onramps are a wonderful thing, it pulls like a train, I swear I could pull
my roadster behind....without its wheels on.

The man certainly knows how to get the most out of an SU-tune.

If you are (or someone is) interested in a great piece that needs a little
sorting on the non-mechanical front, contact me I have details.
Ron and I are helping out on that front, and it is all volunteer basis, we
have nothing in it except the good fortune of our good friend.
It is at the MotorsportAuto Z Car show today, in the JNC magazine booth.

Take care all, looked like a great time in Solvang.
We are pulling for you Victor, every day, and will be on your road ahead.
