[Roadsters] Oil Pump Primer

No compression means little significant load on crank bearings, but doesn't
change the loading on the cam bearings, rockers, etc. Yes, it is good practice
to use assembly lube on all of those surfaces, but I guess I'm just a
belt-and-suspenders kind of guy, esp. when it comes to something as crucial as
an engine rebuild. ;^)

The bottom line is, if an engine has been put together correctly, turning it
over with the starter motor with no compression hasn't even a remote chance to
harm the internals. The crucial step is to put it together correctly and lube
wear surfaces as it goes together. That done, the rest takes care of itself.

Of course, what a given person does with their toys is between them and their
creator.

Best, wes

avoid problems) down the road .

engine over will bring oil pressure up throughout the engine. If the engine
was assembled with good lube on the parts then nothing is going to be harmed
in the short time before the oil pressure comes up. It's so much simpler.
