I'm a bit of a list stalker here (have a 1967.5 2000 stuck torn down in a
storage building because I lost my garage when I had to move). I grew up
with Datsun/Nissan all my life (dad worked for Nissan at the Jacksonville
port and eventually corporate in LA for a bit 20 years ago) and I will say
that I didn't know what a roadster was until I was in my 20s. I knew
Z-cars, but the roadster is not that well known.

When my dad worked at corporate Nissan, he threw out the idea of bringing
the Datsun brand back. He was laughed out then, but 20 years later they are
doing it. I think with the relaunch of the Datsun brand, it might make
sense to "reacquaint" the public with the Datsun heritage.. and a 50 year
anniversary of undoubtedly a really cool car is not a bad time to do it..
