[Roadsters] Distributor wire question?

I have wire coming off the front of the distributor near the condenser that
either connected to ground, or to the front side of the ballast resistor on
the ignition coil.

Been too long since I took it off to remember...   Anyone know off hand where
it connects?

Also, the vacuum advance tube / hose that connects to the distributor, is it
supposed to connect to one of the SU carbs or to the intake manifold?  There's
a little black cap on the fitting on the intake manifold which tells me it
probably connected to one of the carbs.
