I will be considering the GM alternator route, but will keep the original
and see if I can find another bracket so if I ever did want to go with more
of a traditional route, I would still have that option. 

 

All of the links that were provided in the emails have been great, and all
the suggestions have been noted, and will start to look into them once I
figure out how to pay for it all! :-) Of course, one of the recent posts, a
newer member asked about where to start on his resto - and overwhelmingly
the response was GET IT RUNNING AND DRIVE IT - So I figured, that would be
the place to start! I will be taking everything really slow, and other then
the alternator swap, the next focus will be the brakes.
