Hi Jon,

it's funny how folks interpret ebay auctions. what he's asking is $8500 or
more, a buy it now just means that if someone wants it bad enough to pay that
amount the auction will end early and they will get it for that. as far as
$14k, someone from Port Huron- about an hour and a half away- told him they'd
be there with $14k in an hour and a half to pick up the car if he'd end the
auction early so he did and then they didn't show and haven't returned his
calls- so they were screwing with him. he got the car along with another car
from someone else's shop that the roadster had been brought to to restore and
then the owner abandoned it there. he didn't get it free, but he doesn't have
a lot of money tied up in it either. a bid of $8500 will buy the car if nobody
bids higher. supposedly he has a firm offer of $10k from someone in Phoenix,
but he's hoping to get lucky... only time will reveal the realities of it all.
I would be surprised if he got his buy it now.
