[Alpines] S2 gas gauge

I don't see how to do it. If you did it would make a rigid connection
between the carb inlaet pipes which, I suspect would lead to a fracture
somewhere in the aluminium casting (probably where the pipe fits.
Many years ago I did look at fitting a right angled connector where the pipe
fits (after I got the two flexible pipe system working), but there didn't
seem to be enough metal to do it safely, the idea was to connect flexible
pipes to those, joined with a y-piece to the pipe from the pump. I reckoned
the easiest and most effective way was on each carb two lengths of 8mm brass
tube (thick walled) joined together by a solder-type "plumbing" right angle
bend, one piece threaded a convenient thread size, fitted with a lock nut,
the existing pipe stud removed and the hole tapped to corespond to the
thread on the pipe. Once the carbs are fitted to the manifold the outlet
pipes can be positioned using the locknuts then connected as detailed above.
I didn't have a spare carb on which to experiment, so never tried it!
