Bill,
In theory, the wood dash will mount exactly the same, as hopefully the aftermarket
manufacturer placed the same holes for gauges and switches as the original Rootes
dash used.
For Alpine owners, the thing to watch for is the hole for the choke cable. Some
aftermarket wood dashes eliminated this as their dashes get purchased predominately
by Tiger owners, most of whom don't use a manual choke and like the smoother
look. For concours judging purposes in stock class, you'll need to know that
judges may deduct points if the wood dash is not on a Alpine GT model.
Another consideration is accomodation for an overdrive light, if equipped, and
the separate blower switch which later Alpines and Tigers had. Early cars incorporated
the blower switch in the righthand ventilator lever. I think the change to the
blower was made around VIN B94100352.
