What is your goal?
Handling in dry weather? Handling in wet weather? Long life? Snow? Those are 4 very different tires.
We went with these: https://www.ranteer.com/davescars/tr6/scan0058.jpg
https://www.ranteer.com/davescars/tr6/tire.jpg
These are called "Ultra High Performance Sport" or "Streetable Track Tires"..
Tire Size: 205/50ZR15 Extra Load
Ultra High Performance Sport
Manufacturer Part #: 207-350
UTQG: 200AAA
Sidewall Color: Black Wall
Load/Speed Rating: 89/W
Not so good in rain, obviously worthless in snow. Won?t last that long, but I doubt I will run 20k miles in 5 or 6 years.
Just a note here: there are many who claim that you can run tires as long as they look ok, or if you store them inside. That?s fiction. 7 or 8 years is the maximum tires will last. They dry rot from the inside. Don?t be foolish; old tires will disintegrate as you are driving and you will be on a sled.

I'd counsel you to consider going with a taller tire sidewall. The suspension geometry on these cars were never designed to accommodate lower profile tires. I had 55 series tires on my car but, the steering constantly "hunted" on bumpy and grooved road surfaces. It was a handful to drive and not much fun. I changed to a taller profile 205/65x15 tire (I also had 15x6 Panasports) and the improvement was noticeable. Had it been available I would have opted for a 70 series sidewall.
As was previously stated, old tires, regardless of the mileage, should be replaced in a timely manner. It's part of maintaining a car.
