When I redid the brake system on my now departed '72 I went with silicone fluid. Nary a problem. The brakes were always one of the stronger points of a TR6. I found no difference in performance.

 Hi,
I've not posted in a long time.  When I was getting down to the finish line of my frame-off TR6 restoration, in 1995, I decided to go silicon fluid in both brake and clutch systems.  I still have that '71 TR6  that I've owned since 1982.  At the time silicon fluid was still an issue of more than a little debate.
No problems in either system to this day.
I thought this subject had been settled long since.  It has certainly been settled for me long since.

Everyone,

I am making slow progress on my brake issue. Turned out that everything
needs rebuilt or replaced. When I am done I should be good for another 45
years before having another problem. But I do have a couple of additional
questions.

1. I am making the conversion to silicone brake fluid. Are there any
reasons why I shouldn't also change the clutch system to silicone?
2. I ordered from the Roadster Factory new wires (140606( for the securing
the rubber boots on the axle shafts. What I received are long wires (about
18" with a loop on each end. Can anyone tell me how these are supposed to be
installed?

Thanks for the help.
