Walt:

I think this is a reasonable thing to do, but I don't know that it needs to be
as complex (flanged, etc.) as this kit makes it seem.  Check out this product:

over at the autobody store forum.  I used it on a patch panel on the parcel
shelf when I did my diff repair and have had no issues.  Send an email to Len
who runs the autobody site with questions about applicability, he's very
knowledgeable and responsive (NFI).
