[6pack] tranny swap

 Hi Oliver,

The answer will depend somewhat on your resources.? Do you have access to a lift, or are you doing it in your garage with jack stands?? Do you have help or are you doing it alone?? Replacing the clutch components at the same time?? Regardless you can expect the second time to take significantly less time than the first.? Figure a good day to get it done alone the first time you are completing the repair.? Even a helper just to hold a wrench on one side of the gearbox saves a lot of time. It is possible to run into problems like stubborn or rusted bolts that can add significantly more time to the swap.? Sorry for the relatively vague answer.? Use the list for more detailed questions as the questions surface.

OK. i've got some reasonable mechanical skills; i've worked on a lot of
different aspects of the car, but I'm a newbie compared to most of you guys.

if i have a replacement OD tranny ready to go, about how long to make the swap
(tranny in car is also od)?

thanks.
