I've been following this discussion for several days now. I believe
there is a racing axiom about this subject that goes:
"...If you've got a $100. head, then buy a $100. helmet..."
As the guy who can only afford to drive a Nikon, I know should I ever
join your illustrious ranks I would spend a serious amounts on
getting the best helmet and safety equipment I could afford, even at
the cost of "go faster" stuff for my racer.
I'd rather be a healthy back marker, than the fastest dead guy or
paraplegic...
