Holomar is indeed the "right stuff" for Hewlands. But. . . the Holomar now
being sold by Permatex is simply awful. It doesn't set up. It remains gooey
and will leak even before the next gear change. The "real" Holomar will sort
of dry out within minutes of applying it to both surfaces, then when parts are
mated it seals wonderfully, doesn't leak, and the parts will separate easily.
But the new stuff from Permatex ain't the same by any stretch. I ordered the
Holomar from Pegasus (don't remember who makes it) but it is like the old
Holomar I'd grown to use and love.
