just a thought here on a "vintage 1960's" catch tank. yesterday while
loading up the last of the stuff we just purchased from an old foregin car
parts store(13 truck loads! chevy van and toyota 4 runner, not tractor
trailer!) i noticed we aquired a few old volkswagen windshield washer fluid
bottles. they were intended to take the pressure from the spare tire to
make the system squirt fluid up on the windshield. by no means am i
advocating these little gems would be a good expansion tank or surge tank
since i am not positive of their burst strength and having no device to
limit pressure and bleed off excess pressure. but as a period fluid catch
tank i think these are just about right. they are tubular and have rounded
ends meant to sit horizontal and not vertical. this type of container would
work well where there might not be enough room for something verticle?
hmmmm, might even see one on my saab? ya never know!
just an observation that came to mind i thought i might be able to share.
