Tires on the trailer can also make a difference. And tire pressure on both
is critical. Tire load capacity and durability at speed is quite sensitive
to pressure. If you are anywhere near max vehicle load make sure the tow
vehicle tire pressures are set to the proper level. Many trucks have a
normal load and max load pressure spec. On a trailer, weigh it with all the
stuff you normally haul. Then compare this to the loadrating marked on the
tires. If you are close to the max load rating per tire, run them at the
max. pressure listed on the tire for its rated load.
