The LeMans car was aluminum-bodied (I believe), and was the prototype for
the GT6. It didn't have the hump on the bonnet needed for the longer
six-cylinder used in the GT6, otherwise it looked just like a GT6 with a
Spit engine. That car showed up for practice sessions last year at Pocono
before heading to Monterey.
Group 44's GT6 is still around. It ran in the MG-Triumph Challenge at
Mid-Ohio this year. I'm not sure who owns it now. Sam White had owned it.
Rumor has it that it sold for around $30k.
