I do not agree that having a race for "pre-1967 cars ... will [not] get enough to break even any more." One of the largest annual spectator events in the United States is the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, and it basically limits cars to 1959 or earlier. By almost all accounts, the best vintage event of 1997 was the Monaco Historics, which was limited to pre-1967 cars.
