Dear Doctor Laura, I have this terrible decision to make.

Should I go in to work Friday morning, go to four meetings, deal with
budget reviews, requests for appropriateions, attend a grievance
meeting, and eat my apple and crackers at my desk with my diet coke,

 OR...

Should I drive 300 miles to Road America, set up the canopy - probably
in the rain - hide my dash holes from the tech inspectors, show them my
nomex sox, say hi to all my good friends, and fill my system with chili
 and beer?

 What's a body to do?

Dr. Laura is out at the moment so I'm taking her calls. I a am a trained
professional psychologists with over 10 years of experience performing
diagnostic evaluations and psychotherapy with adults and families. I have
worked in intensive crisis intervention in the community. Prior to that time
I was a research psychologist at one of the few National Institute of Mental
Health Regional Research Centers for 8 years. We were concerned with the
relationship between schizophrenia and the endocrine system. During that
time I was involved in some very sophisticated chromatographic analysis of
steroids, and extensive electro-encephalographic studies of sleep in humans
and lower species. I tell you these things only to bring some reassurance
that you are working with a trained professional and that my words might have
real value to you in your obvious time of conflict and need. I now specilize
in working with conflicted vintage racers. Here is a word of advice to you:

WHAT ARE YOU NUTS OR SOMETHING, PACK YOU BAGS, GET YOUR RAINCOAT, BLOW OFF
THOSE MEETINGS,GET THE CAR ON THE TRAILER AND GET YOUR A** TO ROAD AMERICAN.
IF YOU DON'T WE'RE STARTING COMMITMENT PROCEEDINGS IMMEDIATELY, YOU'RE
OBVIOUSLY A SERIOUSLY DERANGED PERSON.
