I heartily agree with Jim.
My car (1958 VAY Special) couldn't lock-up with stock 10" drums and 
shoes. CarboTech linings made an enormous difference I can actually 
slow-down and go through chicanes et al rather than 'going through' 
chicanes (makes a mess of the car and lap times)
