If my memory is correct there were several running in the early 60's. I think
they ran the slant 6, but were often beaten by Volvos.

The Lotus Cortina was powered by the Lotus Twin Cam, based on the Ford
Cortina block. Displacement was 1558 cc, and it delivered around 110-115 hp
in street trim, 140 in a racing configuration. It used a dual overhead cam
head designed by Lotus with dual side-draft 40DCOE webers. Modern twin cam
race engines range between 160-200 hp.

I would suspect your Barracuda is vintage eligible as a few ran in the early
Trans Am. Personally, I've never seen a road race Valiant??? has anyone
else???
