I was told by a college physics professor that silicone may be quick to ta=
ke up air but it is also quick to give it up.=C2=A0 That is why they use si=
licone oil in high vacuum pumps.=C2=A0 So the trick I use is I fill the res=
ervoir and wait a while before bleeding.=C2=A0 I fill it and walk away. I g=
o do something else and come back to the brakes in a couple hours or the ne=
xt day.=C2=A0 This gives it time to release any entrained air.
I've run DOT5 in my cars for the past 20 odd years with no issues above and=
 beyond normal maintenance.

It is true that you cannot use an air powered bleeder for DOT 5.=C2=A0 It w=
ill put air bubbles in that will be pretty hard to get out.

But - if you get speedbleeders=C2=A0 http://speedbleeder.com/ it will make=
 your life easier.
