Thanks for that Jerry.
=20
I=E2=80=99d forgotten that the square fitting was on the back!
Loosened that (with the proper wrench) and the drums came right off.
=20
All I can see untoward is a bit of dust that I=E2=80=99ll vacuum off =
tomorrow morning.
Other than that it=E2=80=99s still puzzling why it locked up.
=20
Cheers!

You can try backing off the adjustment which is done by turning =
(loosening) the square headed fitting opposite the wheel cylinder on the =
back side of the backing plate .It=E2=80=99s a quarter inch square and =
you can cobble together some quarter inch drive sockets to fit the =
adjustment screw. If that doesn=E2=80=99t work try grinding the heads =
off of the pins that hold the shoes tight against the backing plate. =
They look like the head of a nail and are at 90 degrees from the wheel =
cylinder. What you=E2=80=99re tring to do is release the shoes from the =
drum thus allowing the drums to pull off.

Hi folks,
I got the car jacked up and the back wheels off.
Now I=E2=80=99m looking at the back brakes.
The driver=E2=80=99s side drum is locked up; the passenger side I can =
rotate.
I can=E2=80=99t get either drum off, despite banging on them with a =
rubber mallet.
(I=E2=80=99ve taken out the 2 flat screws)
Any ideas?
Cheers
