n fact, don=E2=80=99t think frames were ever numbered from a production stan=
dpoint. Nearest you=E2=80=99ll get is/was the body number but the commission=
number was the most important of all.

There isn't one AFAIK. There might be a tag on top of the front cross member=
(under the engine) but if its there, its just a series number or something l=
ike that. There is nothing to identify a particular frame.
Depends on the state, but most of them have a process for assigning a new vi=
n number to a car assembled from parts. The local DMV may not know much abou=
t it, but its there. And usually pretty easy, if you know how.
