I second Wildwood Crest as the best in NJ, worth the extra ride...been going 
there for 20 years....it's a huge beach, fairly uncrowded, lots of 
activities, free beaches, and near the Wildwood boardwalk, great for 
kids....Just a little north of Cape May which is the epitome of a Victorian 
beach town with beautiful inns, B&Bs and some excellent shops for the 
wives...
