Really, Fred ? $1000 in 1991 ?

I've seen your service pit, and it looks very effective to me. I might go
for some minor modifications, similar to a muffler shop near me, with a
steel plate on one side (to guide tires) and a wider pit with a movable
steel platform for the other side. But for just Triumphs (and old Fords), a
fixed-width pit would do nicely.

That's actually not quite right, the EZ lift supports the frame members
behind the front wheels and can be configured with the crossbar at the rear
or removed entirely (once the car is raised). In fact, the inventor
invented it specifically to support his Corvair while he pulled it's engine.
