I just faced the same issue on my TR4. I ended up cutting a slot to allow
the linkage free
movement. I used my Dremel to cut, and a grinder to put a little curve on
the edge so that it lines up exactly with the manifold. A file and emery
cloth cleaned everything up. It looks great and just may improve the
carburation at high heat. Who knows.
