FWIW, my father (a professional restorer) lives about 3/4 of a mile up
an old Vermont dirt road.  Whether he's taking out one of his LBCs
(XK-120, MG-TC) or one of his full classics ('32 Packard, '09 EMF), he
simply drives very slowly, and then dusts the car off when he reaches
his destination.  Never had a stone chip from that road in the three
decades he's lived on it.  

Take her out for a spin!  And buy her a pint.  I liked that idea, too!
