Oh, one more thought.  I doubt stainless,mild steel or aluminized pipes will 
make much of a sound difference.  Mufflers are the factor here though a double 
wall pipe from the engine rearward can offer some sound reduction.

Listen to a car with headers, big cam and quiet mufflers.  You can hear each 
cylinder pulsing as the exhaust valve opens.
