I reverted to a method I was taught in automotive technology many years
ago. I bought a venturi nozzle at the hardware store. This is an air
nozzle with a long plastic tube attached to it. I drop the tube into a
can of mineral spirits and hook the nozzle up to my compressor. Then I
preasure spray the parts with the mineral spirits. This works well for
heavily gunked parts, and excellent for lighter dirt.
