I largely agree and more made my comment in regards to people's particular
likes towards certain branding even though most of the formulations probably
do not differ that much.

That said, last year SpeedTV took a tour of Ferrari's "trailers" during one
of the race weekends.  One of the trailers, was a full decked out chemical
lab for analyzing the oil in the cars and also for formulating specific
additives to add to the Shell oil to suit the track layout and / or track
temperature as well as a number of other variables.  It was quite
interesting to see that level of sophisticated chemical equipment sitting in
a Ferrari/Shell tractor trailer behind the pits.

Now I bet Kas did not have that setup in the Quaker State transporter that
was often the backdrop for QS advertising photo shoots :P
