The bearing REQUIRES a puller to get it off - Unfortunately, you will NOT
be able to use the old spacer though. It requires a pre determined force
calculated for the collapse of the metal, and since you didn't count the
turns on the old one, you cannot duplicate the required pre-load now. You
also can't determine it with a torque gauge similar to using the shim
method because the seal will interfere with the actual torque reading. You
might be able to fudge it by using a slightly less torque setting like 11
instead of 12 inch pounds to rotate the pinion allowing for the friction of
the seal - but it would be a guess at best - Sorry, but it looks to me like
your going to a shop to get the bearing off (and since your there, at this
point, you might as well replace it)
