Ed-
In the US, the rebuild kits for the Herald brake and Clutch MC are both
available through regular auto parts houses in the Beck Arnley brand, for
about $20 a kit or so. Same kit does both. (2 kits per car)

Also, if you're using front discs, you should switch to the early Spitfire(4
& Mk 2) MC- it is taller, but the same diameter and angle as the Herald. I
have that system on mine. Just keep an eye on brake fluid levels- it will
drop with pad wear.

If you're having trouble getting the piston out of the bore, remove what you
can, place the cylinder in a vise, and blow compressed air into the outlet
fitting hole. Be sure the MC is empty of fluid(need not be dry, just empty)
and keep the cap on the reservoir- throw a rag over it after tightening, and
hold down with your hand to keep the cap from possibly popping off. This
should send the pressure into the bore, and pop out the piston. Do not block
the end of the bore- that piston may have a bit of force behind it, and two
eyeholes is enough. Also, try to figure where it will go, and try not to
apply too much air pressure- just keep trying till it pops out.
